Hugo’s Lodge: Between Machu Picchu and Salkantay

Hugo’s Lodge is an environmentally sustainable eco-lodge and camping site located in a beautiful jungle valley near the village of Santa Teresa in the region of Cuzco, Peru. It lies near to important trekking trails like Salkantay, Choquequirao, and is just 2 hours by train from Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu Salkantay This spectacular journey to the ancient ruins at Machu Picchu can be taken on either the Backpacker or Vistadome trains.

The journey begins with a series of switchbacks, known appropriately as the 'zig-zag', up the hill out of Cusco, before a brief stop at the village of Peru (treekking salkantay).

The train then descends from the highest point of the journey into the Sacred Valley and the foothills of the Andes. Before reaching Hugo’s lodge, the train travels along the Urubamba River, with awe-inspiring views of the dramatic canyon in Peru (treekking salkantay).
